Escape From Chernobl is a challenging game that (remarkably enough) manages to successfully transfer the original experience of top real-life Escape Rooms to mobile technology.
In Escape From Chernobl you play the role of one of the technicians who had to face their last hours within the fateful meltdown of the well-known nuclear power plant. Collecting clues and solving puzzles, it's up to you to escape from six different life or death scenarios, each one more challenging than the last. Even the slightest mistake will mean your sudden death.
The mechanics of Escape From Chernobl are very similar to any other graphic adventure: move from one static scenario to another and interact with the different items found inside. Interacting with these elements can unlock additional clues that serve to open new areas to explore, or alternately you might actually survive though that is very rare.
Although the atmosphere and puzzles in Escape From Chernobl are very well-done on many occasions will give the feeling that the success of each level is based on too much trial and error, since many of the deaths will be absolutely inevitable and the interaction with many of the elements is either not very clear or do not follow any clear logic.
Nevertheless, Escape From Chernobl is a fun alternative to real-life escape rooms, particularly given that you can enjoy it anytime, anywhere.
